So, Anole has gotten something like 1200 comments in three weeks.
To celebrate, have a Relationship meme!
This is for Anole and Kanji and I guess if you want, Maya but she is backburner-y and doesn't get out much.

Other than that, he is all for someone to be sarcastic and slightly jaded with, so he is looking forward to further conversations with her.

This would probably change if he knew about the cannibalism. And by "probably" I mean "definitely" -- he would still hang around her, but there would now be an ulterior motive of "make sure she doesn't hurt anyone."
I must admit to being curious about the reverse?

'Cause Jennifer's whole metaphor of carnage is basically about payback and treating men like objects the same way she's been treated her whole life, she doesn't know where to mentally sort Anole. ...Which means she's just treating him like a girl with a penis. And since she's been kind of rocky with Needy lately, he's quickly filling up the kinda-sorta-unoccupied "someone I can talk to about stupid shit" slot in her head.
Even beyond the tokenizing and confusion, though, she does like him as a person. She enjoys that she sort of tentatively has someone to vageuly bring up her ~issues~ with, in terms of having powers. She definitely would not eat him, which I guess counts for something.

She may even test you like she does Virginia, in canon. Which is to say, she will try to smack you and if you can block it then you're okay.
Anole is actually also complicated but for entirely more screwed up reasons! On one hand, he just likes Dean in general, having a snarky friend to make morbid jokes with.
BUT...
...first, in canon, Vic is messed up. He swings from "all we're good for in the X-Men is to die/we're nothing but canon fodder/there shouldn't be a Young X-Men team" to, three or four pages later, upon being given a new mission, "What the hell. Who wants to live forever, anyway?" So he's kind of the same way with Dean. On the one hand, he's sort of grateful that Dean thinks that he shouldn't fight the various zombies and demon trees and monsters and so on that inhabit Camp and should instead be a teenager.
On the other hand, though, it's sort of "who the hell do you think you are?" because as much as Victor wants to be and wishes he had the chance to be a normal teen, he knows that's not really an option after the things he's been through.
It is sort of "a chance to be normal" warring with "fought the devil in hell and watched half of my schoolmates be blown up by anti-mutant supremacists."

-- I MEAN. NO. WAIT.
Okay. Victor likes Mr. Richter! I have no idea how their brief interaction in actual canon went down, but that's okay because Messiah CompleX was sobad. Anyway, he appreciates that they have a similar sarcastic side to them that can come out then. He doesn't know a lot about him, beyond what is told from the student gossip because Rictor obviously wasn't a teacher at Xavier's, so Anole doesn't really know what's going on with Rictor's life, beyond the fact that he's lost his powers. He's kind of wondering if he should let Rictor know about the alternate universe Scarlet Witch deal or if that would make things bad or good or what so he's kind of clamming up with that and dialing the sarcasm up a bit to compensate. But Rictor responds to that! So it's all good.

Anole is just like "don't make the crazy exhibitionist mad" But really he thinks Papillon is kind of hilarious, from the two conversations they've had.

AS FOR THE MAKEOUTS, THOUGH...it is actually more complicated than you'd think!
Basically, Victor enjoys it but doesn't expect it to last at allllll. Not least because he knows David wants more than Victor can give him, re: the claw thing. Which kind of freaks him out, honestly. The light biting during the kisses is about as kinky as Victor gets, really. And even that took some getting used to.
On top of that, he kind of feels like if they did become serious/exclusive, David wouldn't be doing it because he really wants to, but because he just wants to make Victor happy. It doesn't seem to Victor that David really thinks about what he wants, especially not if David found it "considerate" that Anole was like "well yeah I want to kiss you but I am not the only lips involved here you know"
To say nothing of feelings of guilt for stealing ZEX's David...
blah blah blah
As for the claws -- Dave's really good at relating to non-humans in camp because he's used to them being present, thought of as equals, etc etc. With mutants it feels like there is... still an "other"-ness, to them, one that Victor is aware of but that Dave keeps... sort of forgetting. So Victor has a carapace and claws and that's just part of who he is -- it made sense to encourage him to use/work with those features. Less of "I am making out with a human who would be normal except for those dangerous bits" and more "I am making out with a person who has natural dangerous bits". He would feel so bad about that if he knew Victor was still worried about that, and would say so if it came up again, because he really did mean it about being good with not. He suggested it, it was denied, and so he considers the topic closed, and he's okay with that.
The last is really a function of how we characterized both Dave and Rush while we played the game -- devoted to each other but also very casually poly (because so many of your side characters make starry-eyes and adorable noises at both Rush and Dave throughout); So Dave is fine with having one main relationship/person he devotes most of his attention to... and then around mistletoe (or, in the case of ZEX, just whenever) making out with other people. Having Victor not be okay with that set up makes David a little :(, because he does really like Victor a lot, just ...does not want to stop doing thing with ZEX, mainly for the reasons he said to Victor. We'll see. He's sort of turning the idea around in his head and poking at it from all angles. Rush showing back up in camp would make things super complicated, but since he isn't here, right now that's... not an issue and Dave is only going to kind of think about it.
...I really should stop tl;dring at you and essay in my own journal it's looking like, but ultimately David does really want to do things with Victor -- he's just not used to having to explicitly state that. He's marquis. He does things because he wants to (and, in the cases where he's doing them because he HAS to in canon, I feel like he makes his displeasure pretty known). He is also very used to people wanting to do things for him because THEY feel like they have to. As such, he's going to be way more about "if you'd like/if you want me to" than stating his own wants.
Re: blah blah blah
As for monogamy, Anole isn't going to be open to the "monogamy + ZEX" option, because...doing that suggests that ZEX doesn't count. And he does! Or at least should, if he doesn't already. But like he said in the thread, slow is fine and it's not like they're at a point where it really matters yet, so. Yes.
And as for that last bit, aren't you the one who said you were glad you got to be equals with everyone here? :P
Re: blah blah blah
Pretty much it sounds like David and Victor have different understandings of what "Poly" is, since Dave would never say or think that that somehow made ZEX not count, or unimportant. But yes. Slow. And... well they'll see.
YES. JUST. IT'S VERY INTERNALIZED OKAY
