It’s weird for Kurt to know he was a teacher for all the babymutants…he feels like it puts some kind of expectation on him to be awesome and teachery. But Anole hasn’t pushed said expectations onto him, so he tries not to think about it too much. Anole is family! People from the Institute are all family, no questions asked. That being said, there’s a difference between family like Julian who is tolerated and family like Anole and Jubilee, who he actively seeks out and enjoys hanging out with. Kurt likes hanging with Anole! He’s got a good sense of humor and Kurt wants to make that shine through despite all of the crap the babymutants have gone through. He’s trying to lead by example, I guess you could say. If he’s upbeat and a jokester and gets everyone to lighten up, it works out.
